Get to Know Dr. Daniel Ethakot

Dr. Ethakoti is a compassionate and dedicated optometrist whose expertise goes hand-in-hand with his diverse talents. Originally from Hyderabad, India, he now calls Saint Charles, Missouri, home, alongside his wife Sarah and their two children. Inspired by Christian Missionary doctors since childhood and guided by his father, who taught optics for Optometrists in India, he was drawn to optometry as a pathway to serve and care for people in his community.

With a career spanning three continents, Dr. Ethakoti brings a wealth of experience to his role. He excels in providing comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages but enjoys the challenge of working with children, youth, and geriatric patients. His approach combines medical and vision exams, emphasizing patient understanding and care.

Education & Experience

Dr. Ethakoti’s journey began after he earned his Bachelor of Science in Optometry from the Birla Institute of Technology & Sciences in India. He continued his education at the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL), earning his Doctor of Optometry degree. His commitment to excellence has been recognized through various awards, including the William R. Jackson Jr.

Memorial Scholarship Runner’s Up award, the Dean’s List at UMSL College of Optometry, Bausch & Lomb School of Optometry and L V Prasad Eye Institute Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence, and the Carl Zeiss Scholarship Award for securing the highest score at the Optometry entrance exam.
